Welcome to the memorial page for

Craig H. Kvarnlov

March 12, 1955 ~ November 27, 2015 (age 60) 60 Years Old

Craig Hilding Kvarnlov was born on March 12, 1955 to Carol and Hilding Kvarnlov in Grafton, ND.  Craig was 6 months old when his father was killed in a car accident resulting in them moving to Roseau, MN.

When Craig was 11 he moved to Pettit Children’s Home in Sauk Center, MN.  In 1977 Craig went to live at Project New Hope in Alexandria, MN.  He worked at the ODC and had many special friends.  In 2008 he moved to River Oaks Residence in Thief River Falls, MN to be closer to family.  He worked at the DAC.  Because of a severe illness in December of 2014 he was moved to Roseau Manor in January of 2015.

In 1966, Craig’s mother married Roland Fredrickson. Craig gained a new loving family.  Roland, Steve and Susan were very precious to him.

Craig was very inquisitive and had a phenomenal memory.  While living at Project New Hope staff would give Craig a copy of the monthly laundry schedule.  They would read it to him as he was unable to read.  After that, if staff asked him who was doing laundry, he would tell them who was doing laundry each week for the complete month. Craig once asked a relative whom he hadn’t seen for 2 years if he had gotten new glasses.  Yes, the relative had.  Craig was known to ask numerous questions…”repeatedly”…even though he already knew the answer. “What’s your dog’s name”, “when do I come home again”, “are you going to buy me a radio for Christmas”.

Craig collected radios, snuff cans and cinnamon cans.  He loved his coffee parties with a “bunch of old ladies” when he would be home for a visit.

Craig passed away on November 27, 2015 at LifeCare Roseau Manor at the age of 60.

Craig is survived by his sister, Marsha (Warren) Hagen of Roseau; his brother, Mike (Cherlyn) of Warroad; step-brother, Steve (Cindy) Fredrickson of Plymouth, MN and step-sister, Susan (Chuck) Sorvaag of Argusville, ND.  Several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles also survive.

Craig was preceded in death by his parents, step-father and grandparents.

“Our deepest thanks and gratitude to all of Craig’s wonderful caretakers over the years.”
