Adeline D. Olson

Funeral Service for Adeline Olson of Roseau will be held on Wednesday, January 7, at Helgeson Funeral Chapel in Roseau at 5:00 p.m.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

Adeline Delores Olson was born April 12, 1926 at her home in Stafford Township, to Albert and Rose (Olson) Hulst. Adeline was the youngest of seven children, and attended school through the 6th grade in Stafford Township.  She enjoyed helping her folks on the family farm.

Adeline and Adrian Clayton Olson were married on December 10, 1971.   They made their home in Warroad until Adrian passing in 2005. Adeline then moved into an Apt. in Roseau until the early part of January in 2011, when she experienced a mild stroke and was no longer able to be on her own. She then stayed with Wayne and Monica Ziska for 6 months until she became quite weak and moved into Roseau Manor.

In her earlier years Adeline enjoyed working on the farm, raising cattle and pigs.  While she lived in Warroad she did cleaning jobs at the Legion and liquor store, and also for some private parties.  She was a hard worker who also withstood quite a few hardships along the way.

Adeline was a big fan of the Minnesota Twins and enjoyed watching the games on TV.

Adeline passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, January 3rd, 2015 at LifeCare Manor in Roseau.  She was 88 years old.

Adeline is survived by 2 step-sons, Gary (Jeanette) Olson, Warroad, MN and Terry (Elaine) Olson, Pauline, SC;  2 step-grandsons, Brian (Amber) Fayetteville, NC and Chris (Laura) of Spartanburg, SC., 7 step great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Adrian, an infant son; brothers: John, Stanley and Clarence Hulst, and sisters: Tillie Budd, Rose Holland and Evelyn Johnson.
