Growing up leaves but a small window to accumulate memories as we pass from childhood to adulthood. While the years spent visiting Gilmore and Lovina on Minnesota Hill were relatively short, they are indelibly linked to my childhood of the 1960's and 70s. and will forever be remembered. The Memories: Minnesota Hill, Gilmore and Lovina, gifts of knitted Christmas mittens, the high pitched timbre of Lovina's voice saying a long drawn out "Yahhhh" and her laughter and the kindness of her heart. The huge Sundays meals that were so good. Hot dishes and roasts, beans, Jello dishes, baked goods, the buns, cakes and cookies. it was all there. We would drive back to Roseau in the dark, satisfied and full. Gilmore is gone and now Lovina, but for me the days spent in their company will linger forever. Rest in Peace.

I sure will miss that smile!! I got to know her a bit while my Mom was there, they ate at the same table, then I found out who her kids were and I knew them and she was so pleased. Now she is free of her mortal body and probably dancing with Gilmore. I will miss seeing her, but am happy for her that her struggles here on earth are done.
