Lenore Erickson

Funeral services for Lenore Erickson of Roseau will be held on Thursday, November 19th at 2 PM at Messiah Lutheran Church in Roseau.  Visitation will be from 5-7 PM with a 7:00 prayer service on Wednesday at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau.  Interment will be at the Hope Cemetery in Roseau.

Dorothy "Lenore" Erickson of Roseau passed away on November 17, 2015 at the Roseau LifeCare Manor at the age of 96.

 Dorothy Lenore Erickson, daughter of Carl and Marie (Olson) Bergstrom was born on December 11, 1918 in Wannaska, MN.  She graduated from Roseau High School in 1936 and was united in marriage to Elmer A. Erickson on October 17, 1946 in Roseau.  Elmer, her husband of 68 years, preceded her in death on August 28, 2015. 

 Lenore worked with various retail stores and enjoyed her times at Bakken Apparel and The Fashion Center both on Main Street in Roseau.

Lenore was a great conversationalist and had a special talent of making everyone around her feel comfortable during both celebratory and difficult times.  Her graciousness was always evident and coffee and treats were always ready at her house. She enjoyed her friendships with bridge and dance clubs along with her Circle groups at Messiah Lutheran Church.  She will be well remembered by her grandchildren for always having rice krispie bars ready in the cupboard for them after the long trip to Roseau and for her cozy knitted slippers.

She is survived by her three children, Dale (Gail) Erickson of Mankato, MN, Charles (Anne) Erickson of Vero Beach, FL and Tom (Brenda) Erickson of Rosemount, MN; and her grandchildren, Rion Erickson (son of Dale), Ashley Erickson Lieser (Wes) and Shelby Erickson, daughters of Tom.  Lenore was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer; parents; sisters, Della Roseen and Maymie Alley; and infant brother, Lalyn.

  In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the LifeCare Health Care Fund:  Attn: LifeCare Roseau Manor.
