Gail S. Mayerchak

Gail Salin Mayerchak was born to Carl and Mildred Blom in International Falls, Mn. on January 29, 1936.  She lived in Big Falls , Mn. until 1938 when the family moved to Carp.  She attended the Carp School until 1950.  She graduated from Baudette High School in 1953.  She went from high school right to a job in the Baudette Village Office.   She worked for the village office several times during her career.  She also worked for the state government, Dodds Lumber, the Baudette Liquor Store and the American Legion.  She was dedicated and worked hard at many diverse jobs.  Her tenacious attitude and shining capabilities showed she truly enjoyed them all.  She was respected by her fellow workers and the people she was pleased to serve.

In 1955, she was married to Arnold Larson for seven years and they had one daughter, Sherri.  In 1966, she married Paul Mayerchak. They loved to go hunting and fishing locally and traveling all over the US to several American Legion Conventions with family and friends until his death in 1986.  Gail continued to travel, making three trips to join Sherri and family in Germany and toured Europe to her delight.  Highlights of these trips were meeting her third grandchild Joshua, chipping away at the Berlin Wall, hosting her family in fun at EuroDisney, and a spending spree in Czechoslovakia.

She was survived by her daughter Sherri and her husband Hal and grandchildren Christopher, Samantha (Paul, Kaili, DJ, Lilah), and Joshua Smart.  Her sisters Jill Byrnes and Joan Murray and sister-in-law Jeannie Blom and nieces Debbie Blom, Sandra Piccinato, Belinda Chin Pang, and Tricia Escuyos.  She had an unwavering love of family that embraced these and many nieces and nephews on the Larson and Mayerchak side.  Len Larson particularly held a special place in her heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Mildred Blom, Arnold Larson, Paul Mayerchak, and her brother Al "Jack" Blom.

A Memorial Service for Gail S. Mayerchak of Baudette, MN will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 2:00PM at First Lutheran Church in Baudette, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Intermnet will be held at Elm Park Cemetery in Baudette, MN.

Gail Mayerchak passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at the age of 79.
