Dear Haugers, We just heard of your mother's passing in May. We are so glad we got to see her last summer. Jeanne has fond memories of her first piano lessons from Elizabeth. She lived such a long and marvelous life. Our love and sympathy to your family. Dick & Jeanne Thompson

Mrs. Hauger taught many of us to play piano, too--Jeanne Ness Thompson, Janie Curtis Feigum (I think), and me, at least. I treasured those days when I walked from school to her house with a dollar in my mitten once my dream of having a piano came true when I was ten. In retrospect I know how important it was that she let me move along as fast as I could despite my late start--fine teaching! There's no other skill (except for reading) that has opened so many doors for me, or given such pleasure. I'll always be grateful.

Barbara, Geoffrey and Byron,
My sympathies and condolences to all of you upon the passing of your mother. I didn't know her well, but I did take piano lessons from her as a young child for a couple of years. As a result, I can play primarily for my own enjoyment. I must say that whenever I do play, I think of your mother. She carried herself with a sort of grace and dignity that was admirable. What a long life she lived. You were fortunate to have her with you for so many years.
Please know that others share your loss.
Sincerely, Erlyce (Guenin) Pekas

We have SO many wonderful memories of Elizabeth...she was like a Grandma to our family. Many, many hours were spent with Barbie/Ken dolls and cabbage patch dolls and cloths, and marketing them, along with listening to all her stories about her many travels with family, all about her wonderful grandkids. The list goes on and on. We truly feel blessed having had her for our friend. God bless.

Sorry to see that my sixth grade teacher has passed. I thought she was one of THE BEST EVER! Everyone should take comfort in the fact that she led, not only a long life, but a very enriched one as well. God's comfort to her and her family.
