A Memorial Service for Vivian L. Hangsleben of Warroad, MN will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024 at 2:00PM at Zion Lutheran Church in Warroad, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place at America Cemetery in Warroad, MN.
Vivian Lorraine Hangsleben was born on January 11, 1935 to Paul and Gertrude (Christian) Pommerening. She grew up on the family farm in Swift MN and attended school in Swift before graduating from Warroad High School. She was married to Alfred Hangsleben on November 8, 1952 at Zion Luthern Church in Warroad, MN. They lived in East Grand Forks, MN for a few years before moving to Swift to farm and raise their 5 children.
Vivian was a wonderful mother, she loved her children, grand and great grandchildren very much. She enjoyed spending time at the hockey rink, gardening, baking, embroidery, watching birds and building bird houses, and doing crafts.
Vivian is survived by her children Alan (Carmela) of Lothian, MD, Janeen Cypher of Black Mt., NC, Jerry (Marilynn) of Owings, MD, Chris (Darla) of Oaks, ND and Alison Pomplun of Warroad. Grandchildren Christina Nicole, Josh Cypher, Abby Harvey, Kapital Pomplun-Hangsleben, Brandon Vadnais, Teiya Hangsleben, Sabrie Toepke, Aspen Pomplun and Cheyenne Procopio, 17 great-grandchildren and brother Keith Pommerening.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister Janet Olafson.
