Virginia “Ginger” Kimble passed away on July 23, 2022 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. She was 76 years old after a courageous battle with diabetes and heart disease.
Virginia Mary Kimble was born on January 29, 1946 in Warroad, MN to Edmond and Isabelle (Carpenter) Vickaryous. Ginger grew up the daughter of a commercial fisherman and grew up on Hay Island, attending school at both the Northwest Angle and Warroad. Ginger married Curtis Nelson and together had 6 children. Ginger returned home to Warroad and on September 8, 1979, Ginger and Harvey Kimble were united in marriage and raised their six children.
During her lifetime she held various jobs, including cooking at the Warroad Estates golf course and working at Marvin Windows and Doors.
Ginger loved gardening, fishing, snowmobiling, and visiting with family. She enjoyed reading, golfing, doing puzzles, and watching hockey. She was a great cook and loved to entertain. Ginger's home was always the place to be as her children were growing up and her home was always ready to host a quick get together by the pool or a large family get together that usually ended in a game of pinochle and dice.
Ginger was as vibrant as the colors of her flowers in her summer garden. She loved getting her nails done in bright sparkling pinks and spending time with the "girls" camping, fishing, snowmobiling, and having lunches and cocktails as well as sharing stories, tears and laughter.
Her 6 children, 18 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren were her pride and joy and she welcomed every chance to share how proud she was.
Ginger loved animal prints, flowers, bright colors and all things that sparkle and shine. She was an amazing cook and loved to share her recipes with others. In winter she loved snowmobiling with Harvey and the Wildcats as well as fishing with family and friends. In the summer she enjoyed tending to her garden that always had the most beautiful flowers with the brightest reds, oranges, and spending time in her pool. She loved all animals and watching the wildlife who also enjoyed her amazing yard. She was especially loved her kitty Thumper and sweet dog Micky.
Ginger was loved by all who knew her. Blessed be the memory of Ginger and she will be forever loved and forever missed.
Ginger is survived by her husband Harvey; children Roc (Laurie), Duane (Kay), Teresa (Jerry), Christopher, Christine (Tony) and Jeff (Stephanie); 18 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; siblings Pat (Kenny), Dave, Denise, and Mary (Dave); and many other relatives and friends.
