Vernon "Gil" Roggenbuck of Badger passed away on May 10, 2022 at LifeCare Greenbush Manor at the age of 90.
A Funeral Service for Vernon "Gil" Roggenbuck will be held Monday, May 16, 2022 at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Badger at 11:00am with a visitation an hour prior. A Visitation will also be held the night before at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau from 5:00-7:00pm. Interment will be held at Badger City Cemetery and Military Honors will be done by the Roseau Memorial Honor Guard.
Gil was born on the family farm in Badger, MN on July 5, 1931. He was one of eight children born to George and Nina (Johnson) Roggenbuck. He attended school in Badger and graduated from Badger High School. Gil joined the Marines and fought in the Korean War. He was also a member of the Marine Honor Guard. Gil worked as a dock worker for Admiral Merchants. He enjoyed investing in the stock market.
Gil is survived by his son Mark; grandchildren Ashley (Clint), Scott (Ashley) and Alek (Hope); great-grandchildren Remy, Flynn and Lyla; sisters Sharon and Jeanette; and his special companion Carol Rundell. He was preceded in death by his son Scott; grandson Joshua; father George; mother Nina, brothers Joseph, Harvey, and Raton; and sisters Audrey and Donna.
