Tim Prothero

Tim Prothero was born to Dale and Grace (Kirby) Prothero on December 30, 1958, in Wichita, Kansas. He moved with his family to the Northwest Angle at the age of three. He attended the one-room school through 8th grade. He then boarded with his sister, Linda Knight, during his high school years. He graduated from Warroad high school in 1977. He entered the army and served in Germany. After which he worked at his parents’ resort.

Tim built wood furniture and sold his pieces at craft shows and to several customers in Roseau. He met the love of his life, Cindy Knight, of Warroad and they were married on April 9, 1988. They had 34 years and 3 days of happiness together. He loved his dogs and cats, and birds which he fed daily and even nurtured some that were injured.

Tim worked at Polaris for several years. He built a small tug boat for Cindy and they took many sunset trips in it. Tim passed away from complications of bladder cancer on April 12, 2022 at the Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND with Cindy by his side. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife Cindy (Knight); his sister Linda (Bill) Knight; mother Grace Prothero, all from Angle Inlet; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, John, and father, Dale Prothero.

A celebration of life is planned for July 3, 2022 at the Northwest Angle.
