Tom passed away on February 24, 2024 at the Warroad Senior Living Center from the effects of dementia. He was born in Roseau on February 23, 1953 to Taylor and Edith (Lingren) Halvorson. Tom attended school in Roseau, graduating in 1971. He worked at Polaris from the time he graduated until he retired to help in the care of his mother at home. Tom enjoyed music and bowling. He was a member of Rose Free Lutheran Church where he served as church secretary in addition to being the sexton of Moe-Rose Cemetery for many years.
Tom is survived by his brother James (Sandra) Halvorson and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Taylor and Edith, and brothers Morris and Robert.
A special note of thanks goes out to the staff at Warroad Senior Living Center for the care they gave Tom during his illness.
A Memorial Service for Tom Halvorson of Roseau will take place on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau at 2:00pm with a visitation an hour prior. Interment will be held at a later date at Moe-Rose Cemetery.
