Tessa J. Holt

A Funeral Service for Tessa J. Holt of Fargo, formerly of Roseau, MN will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at 3:00PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau, MN. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 1, 2022 from 5-7PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau, MN. Interment will be held at Spruce Cemetery in Roseau, MN. 

Tessa Holt was in a motorcycle accident on June 26, 2022. She passed away at the Essentia Hospital in Fargo, ND. Tessa was 21 years old.

Tessa was born on August 19, 2000, in Roseau, MN, the daughter of Kurt Holt and Cassie Hanson. She attended Roseau Elementary School then she moved to Superior, WI. She moved back to Roseau and reunited with friends in 4th grade. She enjoyed visiting in her grandma’s hair salon with all of the women. She liked to visit and watch how to do hair and they sure enjoyed her.

Tessa loved snowmobiling, four-wheeling, and fishing in the boat with her grandpa. At the cabin in Buffalo Point she made many new friends and did lots of golf cart driving.

She was confirmed at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Roseau. During high school she played softball and swam on the True North Swim Team. She participated in speech in which she excelled and shaped her personality.

Once she graduated from high school she moved to Grand Forks, ND and shortly after to the city of Fargo, ND. She started taking online classes in criminal justice. In 2020 she attended the Fargo Police Academy. It challenged her and she became stronger and more confident in herself. After going through the police academy she worked at Aggressive Towing as a dispatcher while she worked toward her dream of becoming a police officer.

Tessa loved her animals, Spot and Purrsy. She loved hard and deep. One of her friends commented that she was “a ball of positive energy” and “a ray of sunshine”. That described Tessa well. She will be deeply missed by many.

Tessa is survived by her mom, Cassie Hanson of Moorhead, MN; her sister, Ashley Holt (Joey Snider) of Grand Forks, ND; her niece and nephews, Taryn, Toby and Ty of Grand Forks, ND; her grandparents, Clint and Cheryl Gross of Kennedy, MN; her grandpa Curt Hanson of Granite Falls, MN; many special aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is also survived by her special person in life, Rylyn Thornton, who gave her such joy.

She was preceded in death by her father, Kurt Holt; grandparents, Kenny and Adella; uncle, Kevin Holt;
