It is with deep love and broken hearts that we announce Steven Wayne Skibicki, 74, of Salol, MN passed away unexpectedly at his home on May 15, 2026. Steve was a loving father, grandfather "Papa", brother, uncle, and friend to many. Steve touched so many lives and meant so much to so many people, but above all he was loved and cherished. Truly, one of a kind. He was so proud of his grandchildren and loved spending as much time with them as possible.  They adored their "Papa" beyond words. Steve enjoyed anything outdoors from hunting, ranger rides, cooking, snowmobiling, bonfires, fishing, Wisconsin trips with James helping with the cranberry harvests every fall or just spending hours caring for his garden. Steve enjoyed many activities, but most of all he loved doing them in the company of his treasured friends (like Sparky) and family.

Steven Wayne Skibicki was born May 2, 1952 in Thief River Falls, MN to Jerome & Myrtle (Bye) Skibicki. He was baptized & confirmed at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Goodrige, MN. Steve grew up on the family farm in Cloverleaf township. He attended Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls, graduating in 1970. Steve was married in 1978 to Linda Leen and they divorced in 1982. After graduation he attended Alexandria Technical college for a machinist, before returning home to run the family farm, while also working at Pillsbury in Grand Forks, ND. Steve worked tirelessly on the farm raising hogs, small grains and working for Stavenes Farms, until he began  working at Marvin Windows in 1984. He remained with the company until his retirement in 2019. On March 24th, 1992 Steve welcomed his children (triplets) into the world (Jason, Kandy & Krystal). The memories he created with his children as they grew were among the most cherished.

Steve's greatest joy in life, were his relationships with his family & friends.  He would be the first to offer a helping hand to anyone in need. His compassionate soul and generosity will leave a lasting impact on all who knew and loved him.

Steve is survived by his beloved children: Jason (Madeline) Skibicki,  Kandy (Steven) Lustila, Krystal (Tony) Swanson; Grandchildren: Gavin, Grainger & Lyla (Skibicki), Beth, Kyran, Jayden & Margaret (Lustila), Gabe, Mya, Vincent & Sebastian (Swanson); Siblings: Gary Skibicki, Sister-In-Law: Linda Jo Skibicki, Sister-In-Law: Linda (Wesley) Skibicki, Evonne (Phil) Wold, Arlene "Inky" (Gary) Novak, Duane (Becky) Skibicki, Dean Skibicki, Connie (Mike) Laufman; and many other nieces, nephews and friends.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents Jerome and Myrtle Skibicki; Siblings: Wesley Skibicki, Shirley Hruby and brother-in-law Edwin Hruby, and his nephew Trenton Skibicki.

Steve's life was one filled with happiness, joy, and love. His dedication to his friends and family was truly an inspiration to all who knew him. His memory will be carried on for many generations to come. Steve will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

"And that's, so." -- Steve
