Private memorial services will be held at a later date for Steven Roger Alford of Warroad, MN. He passed away March 14, 2020 at the Warroad Senior Living Ceneter.
Steven Roger Alford was born November 17, 1938, to Clyde and Madalyn Alford in Colusa, California. They resided in Long Beach, California and later moved to Torrance, California.
He graduated from Leuzinger High School. He went on to work at Parker Aircraft. He married Bernice Friesner on May 12, 1961. They had three children, Rebecca Lynn, Keith Alan and Donna Jean. In 1969 the family moved from Lawndale, California to Roosevelt, Minnesota. He then worked for Pearson’s Tool and Dye in Roseau, Minnesota and later Marvin Windows in Warroad, Minnesota.
Steven moved to Thief River Falls, Minnesota and worked at Arctic Cat for many years. He became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses during this time and devoted his life to his ministry.
Steven later married Lisa Woodruff on August 22, 2004 and they made their home in Baudette, Minnesota. Lisa’s daughter, Misty Woodruff, joined the family.
Over the years Steven enjoyed many hobbies – gold digging, remote-controlled model rockets and remote-controlled model airplanes. He loved woodworking and also playing the piano and guitar.
Steven resided in the Warroad Senior Living Center in Warroad, Minnesota for the past several years, where he passed peacefully in his sleep.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Madalyn; his brother Clyde James Alford; his wife Lisa Alford; and grandson Jordan Alford. He is survived by his brother Ronald Alford and wife Kathy of Holton, Michigan; his children Rebecca Alford (Warroad), Keith Alford (Roosevelt), Donna Alford-Housker (Badger) and Misty Woodruff (Baudette); ten grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren
