Stephen Joseph Pulczinski passed away at home in Roseau, MN on April 19, 2023, the day before his 87th birthday.
Steve was born April 20, 1936 in Greenbush, MN to Emil and Eleanor (Koppy) Pulczinski. He grew up in Greenbush, attending the Haug Leo School in rural Greenbush.
Steve married Helen Hiltwein in Fargo, ND in September, 1955. They had five children –Steven, Brenda, Kevin, Helen and Kelly.
In 1966 Steve moved to Roseau from Casselton, ND and began farming. On September 4, 1971 Steve married Blanche Olson in Roseau. Together they build their home in Fox, MN where they lived until Blanche’s death in 2020.
Steve worked as a mechanic at Roseau Farm Service, retiring after 36 years. He then started Steve’s Tractor Repair, serving local farmers and others until 2022.
Steve was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Badger, MN. He volunteered at the Pioneer Farm in rural Roseau. He enjoyed camping and traveling with Blanche in their RV. He spent a lot of time restoring tractors, attending threshing bees, and driving his restored tractors in parades.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Eleanor; his wife Blanche; brother Julian; stepbrother Nicholas Antonovitch; sons Steven and Kevin; and great grandson Connor.
He is survived by his children Brenda (Arlen) Larsen of Roseau, Helen Blawat of Roseau, Kelly Pulczinski of Ohio; stepchildren Kim Losse of Dallas, WI, and Kate Losse (Joe Hofman) of Minneapolis, MN; sisters Bernie (Bob) Bardon, and Darlene (Patrick) Jennings; brother Gene (Mary) Pulczinski; stepbrothers Mike (Sandra) Antonovich and Lyle Antonovich; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Funeral Service for Stephen J. Pulczinski will be held Thursday, April 27 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Badger at 2:00pm with a visitation an hour prior. A Visitation will also be held on Wednesday, April 26 at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau from 5:00-7:00pm with a prayer service following at 7:00pm. Interment will be held at Malung Cemetery.
