A Mass of Christian Burial for Sherry Hunt will take place on Monday, February 5, 2024, at 1:30 pm, with a visitation an hour prior at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Thief River Falls. The night before, there will also be a visitation at Helgeson Funeral Home in Warroad from 5:00 - 7:00 pm on Sunday, February 4, 2024. Interment will take place at Landstad Cemetery in Thief River Falls.

Sherry Renee Hunt of Warroad, MN, passed away at home on January 28, 2024. She was born September 15, 1953 along with her twin sister Shirley in Thief River Falls, MN to Pearcy and Margaret (Jorgenson) Seaverson. She graduated from Lincoln High School, Thief River Falls in 1972, and Moorhead State University in 1976. Sherry and Don Hunt were married in October of 1981. Don passed away in 2017. Sherry taught grade school in Grafton, ND, and Thief River Falls at St. Bernard’s Catholic School. She started working for the Security State Bank in Warroad in 1979 and retired in 2019.

Sherry and Don enjoyed spending time at their cabin on Zippel Bay, Lake of the Woods. Sherry loved shopping, online puzzles and slots, getting together with friends to have Holiday coffee with cream, and visiting Minneapolis with her friend Rhoda. She enjoyed family time, especially with her nieces and nephews.

Sherry is survived by her twin sister Shirley (Steven) Onken, West Fargo, ND; sister Kelly (Alan) Burda, Middle River, MN; brother Dennis (Mary) Seaverson, Thief River Falls, MN; brothers and sisters-in-law Jeff & Vicki Hunt, Thief River Falls, MN, Tom & Della Hunt, Kevin, MT, Cherrie & Jerry Hunt, Chaska, MN, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Hunt, parents Pearcy & Margaret Seaverson, sister Pam Olson; father and mother-in-law Ralph & Donna Hunt; brothers-in-law John Hunt and Dennis Olson; and sisters-in-law Jennifer Hunt, Claudette Hunt, and Susan Wickham.
