Sharon A. Lane-Eckert

A Graveside service for Sharon A. Lane-Eckert will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 11:00AM at Hope Cemetery in Roseau, MN. The family would like to invite all who attend to a lunch and time of fellowship held after the burial at the Roseau City Park. 

Sharon A. Lane-Eckert was born on September 17, 1947 to Art and Lillian (O’Donnell) Barclay. Sharon met Ted Lane and the couple married in May 1964. They raised their 3 children, Mike, Darena, and Ken, in Roseau, MN, where she worked at the Roseau hospital for 20 plus years. Following Teds death Sharon married Bill Eckert on August 17, 2002. They lived in Sprague, Manitoba where Sharon worked at the Ross L Grey school. Sharon was a very kind and generous person, she loved dancing and drinking coffee with family and friends. She also loved to craft and made each of her great-grandchildren a very special handmade gift. Sharon passed away at the Steinbach hospital on Sunday, June 9, 2024 at the age of 76 after a lengthy battle with cancer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Lane; parents, Art and Lillian Barclay; sister, Darlene Housker; brother in-law, Fred Eckert; niece, Liz Saurdiff; great-grandson, Tyler Bear.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Bill Eckert; children, Mike (Shelly) Lane of Roseau, Darena (Devin) Daignault of Fargo, Ken Lane of Fargo; grandchildren, Kelsey (Keith) Vatnsdal, Kursten (Justin) Kennedy, Kylie (Brian) Volpei, Miranda (Brett) Storey, Marissa Daignault, Madison Lane, Quinn Lane; great-grandchildren, Carter, Arya, Ethan, Jaxon, Molly, Brooks, Parker, Audrey, Jazmyn, Kobie, Elliott, Darla.
