Roger Alan Vacura

A Memorial Service for Roger Vacura of Roseau, MN will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 2PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home.

Roger Alan Vacura, 63, was born on February 16, 1962, in Greenbush, Minnesota, to Otto and Laurine Vacura. He attended school in Badger, Minnesota, and graduated in 1980. Following high school, Roger attended Northland Technical College in Thief River Falls, where he studied carpentry.

Throughout his life, Roger held several jobs. He worked at Red Owl in Warroad, at Marvin’s, and most recently at Polaris, where he dedicated more than 20 years of service.

Roger enjoyed the outdoors and simple pleasures in life. He loved hunting and fishing, watching sports, reading western books, listening to music, and working on jigsaw puzzles.

Roger is survived by his brothers, Otto Vacura of Badger, Minnesota, and Darryl (Kathy) Vacura of Baudette, Minnesota; his sisters, Cheryl Allen of Badger, Minnesota, Marilyn of Meridian, Idaho, and JoAnn of Grants Pass, Oregon; his stepdaughter, Courtney Cole; and his grandsons, Aiden Kompelien and Payton Hill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Laurine Vacura; his brother, Jim Vacura; his grandmother, Pearl DePew; and many aunts and uncles.

Roger will be remembered for his hardworking nature and the quiet enjoyment he found in the people and activities he loved.
