Our precious husband, father, and grandfather left us and his earthly home September 11, 2020.  He is now out of our sight, but never out of our memory, and into the arms of his loving, Heavenly Father.

H. Roger Stoll was born on June 16, 1942 to Joseph and Anna Stoll, the 3rd youngest of 17 children in Height of Land Township, Becker County, MN.  The Stoll family claimed the record for the most number of children born to one family in that County!  Roger remembered their family being poor, but very happy, with a lot of singing, praying and reading of God’s word.  At the age of 6, Roger lost his mother.  A short time later his father remarried to Fannie Hostetler who became a second mother to him.  The boys, especially, were mischievous and rambunctious. He related a story about himself and his brother Ray being tied to a tree facing each other until they apologized to one another!  Fannie had her hands full!  He also lived with cousin Amelia Gingerich and her husband for a good while, and they enrolled him in Bethany Christian High School in Goshen, Indiana.  Roger went on to enlist in the Air Force in March of 1962 and received an honorable medical discharge in December of 1962.  He received his G.E.D. diploma while there.  In 1964, he came to Warroad to visit his N.W. Angle brothers, Paul and Lloyd.  While being in Warroad, he applied and got a job at Marvin Windows, becoming a truck driver for 20+ years.  He finished up as a purchasing agent under Arlyn Stewart, when a stroke retired him on November 24, 2005.  Roger also graduated from Liberty Home Bible Institute in 1982; received his small engine repair degree; and an Insurance Adjuster license all from home courses.

Roger and Margaret opened Stoll’s Bible & Book Store in 1978, small scale, but what a blessing for the family!  He was very active in various board positions for the churches they attended.  He did fill-in preaching and teaching with youth leadership, to Bible Camp work, and loved all he did.  His biggest accomplishment, though, was being a good husband, father and grandfather- always believing Proverbs 22:6, Train up a child in the way he should go, and he will not depart from it.

Roger was married May 15, 1965 to Margaret Ann Jaros.  From this union came four children: Tracey Allen (Stephanie Thomas), Anne Marie (Darren Warkentin), Kirby Ray (Shana Carlson) and Kristyn Rose (David Anderson); 14 grandchildren: Thomas, Caleb, Andrea, Jillian, Bethany, Katrina, Jacob, Rebekah, Lydia, Joe, Anna, Sara, Katie and Evan.  Also surviving are siblings: Lloyd, Warren, Ray, Roy and Carol .  Preceding Roger in death were: his father, mother and stepmother; sisters Fern, Ruth, Ella, Doris and Lorna; brothers Paul, Ivan, Carl, Joe, Ronnie and Donnie; and grandson Evan.

Roger will be so missed by all of us, but we thank God for a life well-lived.  His earthly burial will follow with family only, requested because of Covid-19.  God bless his memory.
