Roger D. Flath

A Memorial Service for Roger D. Flath of Roseau, MN will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Spruce Free Lutheran Church in Roseau, MN. Visitation will be held that evening Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 5-7 PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau, MN with a prayer service at 7. Memorial Services will also be held on Friday, September 27, at 1:00PM at Schoeneberger Funeral and Cremation Service in Perham, MN. 

Roger Darrold Flath was born on October 11, 1953 to Clarence and Vera (Nygaard) Flath. He grew up in Dent, MN and attended school in Pelican Rapids, MN. He started working for farmers in the area at a young age before getting jobs in construction with Sorenson Construction and Barry Construction. On November 25, 1972 Roger married Julie Wallace in Detroit Lakes, MN. In 1979 Roger started Dairy Farming and did so until 1997. He got a job with Jenny O Turkey Store, Pelican Rapids live haul until 2004 when they moved to Roseau County and he started working at Marvin Windows and Doors. Roger enjoyed farming, gardening, woodworking, his short horned cattle and spending time outdoors. He was a hardworking man, and also a very loving husband and father.  

Roger is preceded in death by his father, Clarence Flath; brother, John; sister, Helen and mother-in-law, Betty V. Wallace.

He is survived by his wife, Julie; daughters, Tonja Sarff from Eagle Bend, MN, Valdyne (Adam) Schwallier from Grand Rapids, MI; grandchildren, Zachery, Samantha, Rebecca, Jonathon, Preston, William, Anabelle; siblings, Robert, Cindy, Verna, Judy, Mark, Jeff, Linda.
