Graveside services with military honors for Rodney Dally will be held at 10:00 a.m. on June 14, 2025, at Elm Park Cemetery in Baudette.
Rodney Ordean Dally, age 86, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 15, 2024, in Athol, Idaho, where he was living with his granddaughter, Jennifer.
Rodney was born April 28, 1938, in rural Baudette, to Francis and Iva (Benedix) Dally. He was born 10 minutes before his twin brother, Ronald.
Rodney attended school in the Baudette area. In 1956 Rodney enlisted in the Navy. After serving 4 years, he moved to Washington state. In 1964, he married Helen Emmett. He retired from the Simpson Tacoma Craft papermill in Tacoma. After retirement, he returned to Baudette. Helen passed away in 2001. Rodney married Dianne Carlson in May 2009. Dianne passed away in May 2012. In February 2022, he moved to Idaho to be with his granddaughter.
Rodney enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling. He loved music and family gatherings. While in Baudette, he enjoyed playing cribbage at the Brinks Center and bowling. After moving to Idaho, he enjoyed spending time with his great grandchildren. His face would light up when they entered the room.
Left to cherish his memory are his twin brother, Ronald (Lola) of Baudette. Helen’s children, Janice and Patty; grandchildren, Jennifer Bicandi, Steven Belden, Sam Belden, Joe Washington, and Jonie Washington. Great grandchildren, James Belden, Mathew Belden, Tyler Belden, Travis Belden, Samantha Belden and Bella Belden. Great-great grandchildren, Anna, Abby and Alice Belden. Also, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding him in death are, Helen and Dianne; his parents; brothers, Delmo and Ross, sisters, Iva, Doris, Joyce.
