Richard Lee Hasbrouck, age 59 passed away unexpectedly the evening of August 13, 2024, near his home south of Warroad, MN. He was born June 6th, 1965. Youngest of four boys born to Ronald and Arlene (Peterson) Hasbrouck. Growing up Rick was heavily involved in athletics, which by far hockey was his sport that he excelled in. He played for many years from Peewee league through the many age related leagues until he had an unfortunate motor cycle accident that ended his hocking playing years. Rick attended Crookston public school k-12. Upon his high school graduation in 1983, he attended Northland Community Technical College in East Grand Forks, Mn. While attending college Rick would help work for his mother and father when he could at the family owned restaurant, Farmers Table in Fertile MN. He graduated college 1985 with an associate’s degree in Business & Parts management. He then took a job from Marvin Windows and Doors in Warroad, Mn and worked for them for fourteen years. He then explored many different employment avenue, including self-employment in the logging industry, ending with driving truck for R&Q Construction, in which he loved.
Rick was proud of the muscle cars he owned in his early years. His favorite car was his 1972 Chevrolet Nova. Rick was a proud father to three kids, Cody, Jacinda, and Trevor. Whom he talked about often to his friends and co-workers. He looked forward to spending quality time with his kids and grandchildren, Emberleigh and Colesyn. Rick loved spending time outdoors. He enjoyed deer hunting, duck hunting, and his most favorite grouse hunting. Rick loved fishing walleyes and sturgeon with friends and family! He also enjoyed cooking and was very accomplished at that tutelage from his mother and experience working at the Farmers Table. One of his latest cooking conquests was smoking. He smoked venison and fish mostly. Upon loving to cook, he was a fantastic gardener and he spent countless hours canning his goods. He loved passing out his endeavors to family and friends for approval by which everyone couldn’t wait for his next batch.
Ricky or Rick is what most family and friends knew him by. He was a person that was always there for them if they needed any sort of help and would make time to do it. When it came to family Rick was very dedicated and loved all dearly. He will be greatly missed and forever in our thoughts. Left to mourn Ricks passing are his children; Jacinda (Ethan) of Stephen, Mn, and Trevor of Roseau, MN. Grandchildren Emberleigh and Colesyn; Brothers Ronald (Diane) Hasbrouck of Crystal, MN, Daniel (Kindi) Hasbrouck of Fertile, MN, and Gregory Hasbrouck of Roseau, MN.
