Rhena E. Storo

Funeral services for Rhena Storo of Roseau, MN will be held on Monday, October 21, 2019 at 4:00 PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau.  Visitation will be on Sunday evening from 5-7 PM with a 7:00 time of sharing, at Helgeson's.  Interment will be at the Vassar Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

 Rhena E. Storo passed away October 12, 2019 at the Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND at the age of 51.

 Rhena Elizabeth Vinet-Storo was born on October 3, 1968 in Roseau, MN to Andre and Roberta (Marino) Vinet.  She grew up in Vassar and graduated from the Ross L. Gray School in Sprague, MB.  She and Timothy A. Storo were married on October 7, 1994 at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Roseau.  Rhena was a hard worker and has always taken pride in her work.  She started babysitting as a teen, and worked at a gas station in Winnipeg.  She worked for 10 years at REM in Roseau, Marvin Windows for seven years and U-Save/Super One for 15 years.  She started at the Roseau School as lunch lady and custodian in April of 2001 and continued her work with children in September of 2016 at the Badger School.

 She loved to volunteer anywhere she could to help people!  She volunteered at many fundraisers and benefits, the 4-H Stand, Roseau Paws & Claws Rescue & Resort.  She was a member of the Roseau Eagles, the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Sacred Heart of Jesus (Vassar, MB Parish).  Rhena loved to dance and sing!  Her ability to interact with anyone, and her gift of making everyone feel special was felt by all who met her.  She enjoyed ceramics and making many gifts for family members.  She was full of love and thoughtfulness.  She had the best laugh and sparkle in her eyes.  She had a kind word for everyone and never excluded anyone.  When you came into Rhena’s life, you became family to her.  She loved knowing everything that made you who you are.

 She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Timothy Storo of Roseau; daughter, Jena (Donald) Storo-Haugen of Grand Forks, ND; son, Jonathan Storo (Katelyn Pedersen) of Roseau; mother, Roberta “Berdie” Vinet of Vassar, MB; brothers, Michael Vinet, Maurice (Nicole Chenier) Vinet both of Vassar; sisters, Brigitte (Ted) Vinet-Sanders of Winnipeg, MB, Roxanne (Jason) Vinet-Kozody of Vassar; God-daughter and niece, Alicia; nephews, Curtis, Mason, Gavin, Tyler, Colby; mother-in-law, Mary Storo; brother-in-law, Steven (Penny) and children, Jack and Kaitlin Storo; special Beagle/Dog/Kid, Maggie May Storo lives on Rhena’s Couch.  She was preceded in death by her father, Andre Vinet; father-in-law, Bennie Jr. “Sonny” Storo; baby brother, John Andrew Vinet; and dog, Molly Rose Storo (Beagle) and cat, Liberty Anne Storo.
