Raymond passed away at the age of 87.

Raymond “Ray” Ole Vistad was born on October 17, 1934, in Roseau, MN to Ole and Ethel Vistad (Sellen). He grew up in Roseau and graduated from Roseau High School.

On November 28, 1957, he married JoAnn LaChappelle. They were together for 64 years. They raised four children together:  Jim, Sherry, Jan, and Sue.

Ray was in the Army from 1957 to 1963 stationed at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas.  After leaving the service, he returned to Roseau and was employed at the Roseau Creamery delivering milk to the local businesses.  He then went to work at Polaris Industries in a variety of roles, but mainly as the Supervisor of shipping and receiving departments.  He retired from Polaris after 31 years of employment.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and spending time in the outdoors.  He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He also enjoyed spending time with his many friends and neighbors.  He could often be found passing timing reading books, playing a tune on the piano or shooting a game of pool.  He always had a good story or joke to share with everyone.

Raymond is survived by his wife, JoAnn; daughter Sherry (David) Kiesow; son Jan (Tracey) Vistad; daughter Susanne (Patrick) Stein; grandchildren Aleck (Lisa) Stein, Jesse (Ashley) Stein, Rikki Stein, Lindsey Vistad; and great-grandchildren Rowynn Stein and Joplin Ray Stein; brothers Luverne (MaryAnn) Vistad, Leroy Vistad; nephew Jason (Kathy) Kubena; niece Jacki Kubena, and many other loving cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ole and Ethel Vistad, sister Eldyne Kubena, and son James Vistad
