Randy S. Kostrzewski

A Memorial Visitation for Randy Kostrzewski of Roseau, MN will be held on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 from 4 - 6 PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau, MN. A prayer service will be held at 6:00 PM. 

Randy passed away on June 27, 2021 at LifeCare Medical Center in Roseau, MN after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 56 years old.

Randy Steve Kostrzewski was born on June 28, 1964 in Karlstad, MN to Alex and Bernice (Peters) Kostrzewski. He attended school in Warren, MN, graduating from high school in 1982. After high school he enrolled in the carpentry program at Northland Community College in Thief River Falls, MN. He worked at Marvin Windows in Warroad, MN for twelve years and during that time he became an electrician. He started his own business, Affordable Electric, Inc. in Roseau, MN. Randy loved his work and was proud of his business. He worked hard to provide for his family. He was a go-getter, a jack of all trades, and enjoyed passing his knowledge on to others.

Randy married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Borowicz, in 1984 at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Stephen, MN. They had two children, Kayla and Stacey. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren and would do anything for them.

Randy loved to talk and could converse and connect with anyone.  He was a very straightforward guy – a straight shooter. He was proud of his hunting land and spent a lot of time there hunting, spending time with his friends, sitting around the campfire, and just being outdoors. His dogs were always by his side. He loved life and played hard but he was truly a gentle and kind hearted man.

Surviving Randy are his wife Barb; children Kayla (Kelly) McLaughlin of Warroad and Stacey (Aaron) Castle of Fargo, ND; siblings Alex (Lynn) Kostrzewski and Susan Jorgensen; grandchildren Porter, Barrett, and Crosby McLaughlin, Avery and Cade Castle; brothers-in-law Greg, Gary, Doug, Dennis, Rod and David Borowicz; sister-in-law Bonnie Borowicz; mother-in-law Dorothy Borowicz; many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; brother James, and father-in-law Ralph Borowicz.
