Quentin Johnson Obituary

A private graveside service for Quentin L.F. Johnson of Badger, MN will be held at the Badger City Cemetery.

Quentin Ludlow Frederick Johnson,  89, of Badger, MN was born on September 15, 1934 in Greenbush, MN to J. Ludvig and Donna (Castle) Johnson.  Quentin attended elementary school in a country school near Salol, MN.  He graduated 8th grade from Garland country school in Nereson Township and high school in 1956 from Badger after testing out while in Okinawa.

He served in the Army, working in the motor pool from 1954 to 1956. Quentin and LaVonne  Bjerk were married April 6, 1957 at the Badger Community Church.  From  1957-1961 he worked for a farmer in Forrest River, ND, a farmer in Nereson Township from 1961-1964 and drove truck for Arctic Cat, North Star and Byfugliens from 1964-2012, while also farming and raising cattle from 1970-2011.  While trucking, he received a Million Mile Award for trucking without accidents.

Quentin enjoyed farming, gardening, hunting, fishing and raising cane with his cousin and best friend Edgar Castle Jr.  He was a hardworking, kind, generous man who loved and cared deeply for his family.  He was always willing to help anyone in need.  Quentin was a member of the Northland Assembly Church and the VFW, both in Badger. 

Quentin passed away at his home in Badger from the effects of Parkinson’s Disease on May 30, 2024.

He is survived by his wife of 67 yrs. LaVonne; children Scott (Teresa Hites) Johnson, Badger, Jerome Johnson, East Grand Forks, Mike (Karen) Johnson, Roseau, Heidi (Christ) Rud, Badger; grandchildren Justin (Gail) Johnson, Brittany Wells, Alexis Rud, Hannah Rud, and one precious great grandchild, Rylee Johnson. 

Quentin was preceded in death by his parents Ludvig and Donna Johnson, mother and father-in-law Selmer and Ethel Bjerk,  and brother-in-law David Koebernick.
