Nancylee E. Carlson

A public visitation, following MN ST. Covid Guidelines, for Nancy Carlson of rural Roseau will be held on Sunday, January 3, 2021 from 4-7 PM with a 7:00 prayer service at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau.  Graveside services will be held Monday, January 4, 2021 at 11:00AM at PineGrove Cemetery in rural Roseau.

Nancylee Eileen Carlson passed away December 29,2020 at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND at the age of 79 peacefully with family present.

Nancylee was born April 18, 1941 in Bemidji, MN.  to Francis and Eilleen (Butcher) Burdick. She grew up in Bemidji and attended school there. After graduation she moved to Washington for a period of time returning to Bemidji and then moving to California, she lived in Long Beach and worked at The Pike where she recorded two single records. In 1970 she married Ernest Carlson and settled into farm life. Together they ran a sawmill and the farm.  Nancy had a passion for animals, especially horses. She spent a lifetime taking in stray animals and people helping them get back on their feet. She also enjoyed jewelry making, quilting, crafting and rock collecting. Her kindness was far reaching.

Nancy is survived by her children, Michael McManus of Wilton, MN, David (Lisa) McManus of Wannaska, MN, Janie (David) of Nevis, MN., Christine Ettahiri (Fouad) of Roseau, MN, Brett (Tania) Creger of Roseau, MN, Michele McManus of Walker, MN; Brothers Francis (Jackie) Burdick, Dennis Burdick, David Burdick and sister Kathleen: Grandchildren Kayla (Tim), Jason, Travis, Heather M., Heather B., Christy, Mathew and Richard and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ernest; sister Diane and granddaughter Elisha.
