Nancy Deryn Engel

Nancy Deryn Engel, 63, of Roseau, MN passed away at her home on November 8, 2025. Nancy, also known as Ninnie to most of her grandchildren, was a one of a kind. She was unapologetically herself, and someone who left a lasting impression. She was a professional gift giver, and always delivering random gifts to everyone in her life. Nancy was not a materialistic person but she always made it a point to make sure others had what they needed and felt special and loved. It was impossible to be around her and not be filled with laughter. I think everyone who knows her has a funny story to tell. Nancy was a talented care taker and took pride in her years working at Focus in Roseau as well as in home with handi-capable individuals. She also was very proud of her recent position at Marvin Windows. In her free time, when she wasn't buying gifts for others, you could catch her playing bingo, taking her chances at the casino, or crafting some kind of artwork. 

Nancy was survived by her oldest Daughter Hannah Monsrud, married to Kyle Monsrud, with grandchildren Karver Monsrud and Aubrey Monsrud. Her son Parker Korb, married to Jada-Beth Korb, with grandchildren Lydia Korb and Alika Korb. Her daughter Angelina Korb, with grandchildren Temple Hansen and Synnova Knutson. Grandchildren Ava Stotts, Noah Zimney, August Zimney, and Raylin Zimney.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Lanie Zimney, former spouse David Korb, Eira Thomas; mother), Robert Engel II (father), and Robert Engel III (brother). 

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Roseau American Legion on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 2:00 pm.  Visitation will be at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau, MN on Friday, November 14, 2025 from 5-7 pm with a time of sharing at 6 pm. Both events are open to the public.
