Muriel "Loretta" Voll

A public visitation, following MN State Covid-19 Guidelines with social distancing and face covers, for Muriel "Loretta" Voll of Salol, MN will be held on Wednesday, October 14th from 5-7 PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau.  A private funeral will be held at Helgeson's with interment at Norland Cemetery in Salol. 

Muriel “Loretta” Voll passed away on October 11, 2020 at the LifeCare Roseau Manor at the age of 86.

Loretta was born on October 5, 1934 in Williams, MN to Ellen (McGuire) and Raymond LaValla.  She grew up on the forty-acre farm north of Williams, the 5th to the youngest of a large family.  She married Henry Voll on Oct. 19, 1952.  They farmed for over 50 years in Norland Township.  They also operated the Roseau Locker Plant for many years.  Loretta began a daycare service for 17 years, caring for over 100 children. She also enjoyed working in her large vegetable and flower gardens.  Norland Church was known as the little church with a big heart, and that reflects the way Loretta lived her life.  A big heart for the Salol Community.

Loretta’s kindness and good cooking were not just experienced by those visiting her home…you can often find her sending baked goods to the bus garage and visiting the nursing homes to great friends in need.  She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother; and enjoyed spending time with them.  Blessed be her memory. 

She is survived by her husband, Henry of Salol; children, Larry (Judy) of Salol, Luella Stenvik of Middle River, Lawrence (Vickie) of Salol, LaVerne (Mary Kay) of Salol, Lyle of Roosevelt, Lynette (Vern) Brazier of Middle River, Laurie Jean (Mark) Stromsodt of Middle River, and Leslie (Shelly) of Salol; grandchildren, Jolene (Cory) Froese, Janelle (Shawn) Reed, Jason Fish, Jeremiah (Jennifer) Voll, Muriel Voll, Ranell (Kot) Voll, Wayne (Cynthia) Fast, Craig (Noelia) Fast, Jessica Voll, Nathan Voll, Shelly Voll, Shanna Adams, Kelsy DePriest (James), Mike Brazier (Sam Swangler), Leslie Fast, Mathew (Tiffany) Stromsodt, O’Brien Stromsodt, Ashley (Jay) Quaife and Adam (Meagan) Voll; great-grandchildren, Alex, Issac, Chloe, Gatlin, Carson, Mason, Kaelyn, Roxy, Josie, Kayla, Katelyn, Amy, Dominic, Chandler, Jordyn, Devin, Katarina, Marie, Raymond, Lewis, Brandon, Kimberly, Hayden, Gwen, James, Kyler, Layne, Preston, Isabelle Gene, Kennedi Jo, Isaiah Alexander, Amya, Skye, Addysen, Kaylee, Zackery, Ayden and Makayla; great-great-grandchildren, Harper, Kyler, Logan, Hudson;  and siblings, Lloyd LaValla, Kathryn Mae Baie and Carol Norquist.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Marvin, Leroy, Alvin, Alfred, Vernon, Basil and Evelyn Pederson; grandchild, Zeboriah.
