Millie passed away at the age of 84.

Mildred “Millie” Muriel Eaton was born on September 29, 1938 to Arthur and Rosalyn (Zorn) Clasen in Spruce Township, delivered by a midwife. She grew up in Falun Township and attended grade school in District 112 through the 8th grade; she then moved to Crookston, MN to finish her high school years at the Northwest School of Agriculture. After graduation, Millie started a job with Northwestern Bell as a phone operator. In 1957 Millie married Robert Eaton and they were blessed with six children. Millie became a homemaker until their youngest entered school age; Millie then started working at Brandt’s Travel Host/Roseau Diner in Roseau, MN and worked there until she retired at the age of 82.

Millie enjoyed vegetable gardening, canning, camping, and making her famous bread baked in coffee cans. Millie attended any activity her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were involved in.  Whether it was attending birthday parties, sporting events, school and church programs, weddings, baby and wedding showers, races, and any other event, if she could make it there, she was in attendance. Millie was always happy to have family and friends stop by for coffee and a visit.

Millie was a member of First Lutheran Church in Roseau before becoming a member of Bethel/Stafford Lutheran later in life. She was very strong in her faith. Her bible, full of notes and favorite passages, was never too far away.  She enjoyed bible study with her sisters and other relatives and loved church programming on TV.

Millie is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Robert; children, Mike (Joni) Eaton of Roseau, MN, Julie (Scott) Hetteen of Roseau, MN, Mitch (Sue) Eaton of DeFuniak Springs, FL, Jeff (Julie) Eaton of Roseau, MN, Becky Housker of Fargo, ND, Brent (Shana) Eaton of Lindstrom, MN; grandchildren, Kaylee (Ryan) St. Germain, Laura Beito (Josh), Jonathon (Jenna) Eaton, Jacob (Shaye) Eaton, Scot (Katherine) Eaton, Alex Eaton, Peyton (Justin) Potts, AJ (Sam) Eaton, Karlie (Nate) Wokasch, Elizabeth (Zac) Johnson, Sarah Housker (Bryce), Natalie Eaton, Naomi Eaton; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Irene Anderson, Evie Slick, Geraldine Larson, Imojean (Byron) Nordby; brothers-in-law, David Wensloff (Joan) and Chuck (Ruth) Eaton; also many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Norma Slick, Margaret Pearson, Phyllis Ebeltoft, Inez Starren and Sharon Wensloff; brother, Fred Clasen; one great-grandchild.

Millie went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 14, 2023.  In loving memory of her life, she is no longer by our side but will be in our hearts forever.
