Marvin "Marv" Salvester Anderson of Warroad passed away in Roseau at the age of 91.
Marvin Sylvester Anderson was born March 23, 1930 to Ruth and Dewey Anderson in Badger, MN. He grew up and attend school in Nereson Township, through the 8th grade. As a young man at home he enjoyed training horses and working on the farm. Throughout his life he worked a variety of jobs including truck driving, sheep shearing and construction. After he retired he did some maintenance for the trailer court they lived in. Marvin enjoyed talking with friends and relatives, going to auction sales, watching westerns and drinking coffee. Marvin married Violet Svir and they had 4 children. After they divorced he then married Betty Halverson and had 2 children.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; children, Gary (Pam) Anderson, Marva Anderson, Val Grunig and Merribeth Burch; grandchildren, Jason, Jodi, Salina, Blaine, Trevor, Josh, Tyler, Eric, Kayla, Alyssa, Ryan, Kristen, Kodie, Kassandra and Hunter; 27 great grandchildren; brother, Oren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Dewey Anderson; infant son, John; son, Greg; one grandchild; and sisters Isabelle Lien, Gertrude Smith and Dorothy Lane.
A Graveside service will be held at Badger City Cemetery at 11:00am on Monday, November 1st.
