Marilyn Mae Bell was born in Roseau Minnesota on June 1, 1936 to Walter Bell and Garnett Merrill Bell. She grew up and attended school in Roseau, Minnesota. She was in the Girl Scouts and skating club. She spent her summers in Warroad, Minnesota at her grandparents' home where she met her future husband, George Larson. She married George on November 29, 1952, at her mother Garnett Bell‘s home in Roseau.  They had four children: Joanne, Jane, Jerome, and Jon. She worked as a very successful business owner of Montgomery Word catalog store for 23 years. She enjoyed early morning coffee with her friends downtown.

After the Montgomery Ward store closed, she sold modular homes and did bookkeeping for the laundromat.  She traveled extensively on cruises to Alaska, Hawaii, East Coast, and Mexico. She flew to Prague, Czechoslovakia for son Jon’s hockey and all over the United States for son Jerome’s wrestling. She was the best hockey and wrestling mom! She loved her time at the family lake cabin. She enjoyed cooking and taking care of our family and friends.

She loved to knit and enjoyed her bridge club. Marilyn was very fashion oriented and well dressed. She loved to shop! We were the best dressed kids in school. She lived in Gold Canyon, Arizona for the winter months for 35 years. She loved her friends and church in Arizona. Marilyn was outgoing, kind, generous, and loved to chat with everyone. She wanted us to be the best that we could be. She loved her beautiful river home in Baudette for 25 years. She enjoyed all the wildlife on the river and had beautiful flowers in the yard.

When her health started deteriorating, she moved back to a condominium in Roseau, where there were more doctors available.

She was preceded in death by her father, Walter, her mother Garnett, and two sisters, Bette and Janet Rae.

She is survived by her husband George of 73 years, daughters Joanne Nolden  (Dan), Jane Frosaker (Mike) sons Jerome Larson (Marlene) and Jon Larson (Emily), her sister Kathryn Bell Sanchez, grandchildren Rachel, Christopher, Saundra, Zachary, Issac, Hanna, Emma, Vanessa, Brittany, Alec, Matt and great grandchildren Grant, Lilly, Paige, Grace, Hudson, Wryler, Livy, Isabella, Gavin and Scarlett.
