Lori Lee Waterworth

(Nee Bjorgaard) Of Salol, MN. Passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Thursday, October 5, 2023, at the age of 66, from cancer. 

Lori was born to Pauline (nee Potucek) and Donald Bjorgaard on September 6, 1957, in Warren, MN. She graduated from Marshall County Central High School in Newfolden, MN in 1975. She married Stephen C. Waterworth on November 27, 1976, at Westaker Free Lutheran Church in Newfolden, MN. Lori and Steve moved to Salol, MN and raised their three children, Shari, Brenda, and Jacob. Lori retired from Polaris in February 2022. 

Lori was incredibly generous and always put others before herself. She loved planning birthday parties, baby showers, and any type of gathering. Due to her meticulous handwritten calendar, she seldom missed a chance to send birthday wishes or anniversary congratulations in a Facebook post including many photos from throughout the years. Many friends and family have received one of Lori’s handmade, painstakingly perfect, personalized cards in the mail. She was a part of the Hood Handlers for Hope Relay for Life Team in Roseau for many years. Her greatest of joys were her five grandchildren: Evie, Will, Braydon, Noah, and Naomi.

Left to cherish Lori’s memory are her husband, Stephen C. Waterworth of Salol, MN; her children, Shari (Christopher) Nelson of Coleraine, MN, Brenda Waterworth of Minot, ND, and Jacob (Amanda) Waterworth of Brookfield, WI; her grandchildren, Evie Hulteen, William Waterworth, Braydon Booth, Noah Waterworth, and Naomi Waterworth; her mother, Pauline Bjorgaard; her siblings Debra Nelson, Bruce (Gail) Bjorgaard, Vickie (Russ) Holmaas, and Tami (Doug) Estrem; siblings-in-law Barb Flannery, Kathy (Charles) Phillips, Tim (Diane) Waterworth, Donny Waterworth, Gail (Bruce) Bjorgaard, and Carol (Richard) Culkins; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. 

Preceded in death by her father, Donald Bjorgaard; parents-in-law Betty (née Schmitke) and William Waterworth; and brothers-in-law, Scott Nelson and Petter Waterworth. 

Visitation at Helgeson Funeral Home, 1207 North 3rd Street NE Roseau MN 56751, on Monday, October 9, 2023, from 9:30-11:00 AM. Service at 11:00 AM with Rev. Todd Erickson officiating. Burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Newfolden MN, at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to the charity of your choice.
