Loren J. Ballard

A Memorial service for Loren J. Ballard of Roseau, MN will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at 5:00 PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. 
Loren passed away peacefully, with his family by his side on Friday, June 11, 2021 at the age of 73.

Loren John Ballard was born in Roseau, MN on September 21, 1947 to Felix and Judith (Johnson) Ballard. He grew up in Badger, MN and graduated in 1965. Loren has always had an interest in cars, from the time he could walk Loren was helping his dad work as a mechanic. He worked with his father for years before he got a job a Cenex as a manager in Roseau. In 1968 Loren married the love of his life Marianne Wojchiehowski he then opened his own shop Ballard Motor Company in 1982 in Roseau, MN.

Loren enjoyed many things in life, including fishing and spending time at the lake with his family, reading watching movies and westerns and having full control over the remote. Loren was a big jokester and loved pranking and having fun with people; speaking Norwegian to telemarketers was one of his favorites. He had a fondness for animals of all kinds and loved woodworking, making clocks and remodeling. Loren loved his wife of 53 years and had a deep appreciation for her cooking, he would give anything to make sure his family was cared for.

Loren is preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Judith ballard.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marianne; children, Karrie Lynn (Timothy Allen) Taie of Roseau, Kriste (Irvin Bird) Ballard of Wisconsin, Shane Loren (Angela) Ballard of Roseau; siblings, LaMonda Rasmussen, Jeanie Hamness, Kay Linda Gustafson; numerous nieces and nephews.
