Lester Story Obituary

Memorial services for Lester James Story of Williams, MN will be held Saturday, April 27th at 5:30 PM at the Williams Community Center in Williams, MN.

Lester James Story passed away on April 19th 2019 at his home in Williams MN at the age of 88.

Lester was born on July 2nd 1930 to Albert and Yvonne Story in Saint Paul MN. His family moved to the Swift MN area when he was young. He then met the love of his life, Doris Friesner. Lester and Doris were married on June 21st 1954 in Roosevelt MN at the Church of God by Pastor Oliver Bailey.

Lester had many jobs through the years. He worked at Marvin Windows, he was a lumber jack, he worked at a saw mill in Malvern Arkansas, He also worked for Evert and Doris Landin on their dairy farm where he got his nickname, Charlie Brown. He also did some hobby farming of his own. He raised cows, pigs, chickens, goats and rabbits and grew several gardens. He loved to stay busy. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his great-great-grandchildren. His family meant the world to him and he was very proud of all of them. He really loved doing things with his wife, canning fresh food from their garden, meat from hunting and doing the many things she loved to do as well. 

Lester is preceded in death by his loving wife Doris Story, parents Albert and Yvonne story, in-laws Archie and Beulah Friesner, son Chester Story and son-in-law Larry Legreid, grand children Tammy Geisenhof, James Story, Yvonne Story, Jordan Story, William Walston (Story) and Bryan Lundgren, siblings Grace, Albert, Katherine, Ermine, Wayne, Emil, Ellsworth, Lenard and several brothers and sisters in-law. 

Lester is survived by his children Rodger (Rachel) Story of Salol MN, Robin (Doug) Levecesque of Roseau MN, Julie Legreid of Salol MN, Wendy (Wally) Geisenhof of Williams MN, Rodney Story of Williams MN, Ernie Story of Williams MN, Archie Story of Williams MN and many many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and siblings Rose, Carolina, Jessie, Edna, Willie and Eli.

Lester was an amazing man with a heart of gold and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
