Kurt L. Holt

A Funeral Service for Kurt L. Holt of Roseau, MN will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at 4:00 PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment to take place at Spruce Cemetery in Roseau, MN.

Kurt Leon Holt joined his twin brother and gained his wings on Thursday, August 5th, 2021.

Kurt was born March 4th, 1968 in Thief River Falls, MN, the son of Kenneth and Adella (Tweten) Holt. He was 53 years old.

Kurt started his working career as a teenager at FevoldsMobile Gas Station and Arcade, where Cliff became a strong influence and mentor that lasted throughout his life.  He worked for many years at Polaris, JD Seamless, and most recently KMS, where he established many devoted friendships.  He took pride in his work and always had to be working on something.  Many called him a Jack of all trades.

Kurt had such a deep love for his family and friends. He was known for his friendly smile, the best sense of humor, and all of his jokes and pranks. He took pride in being a father and grandfather.  He was a hard worker with a gentle soul. Kurt appreciated the smaller things in life.  He did things with charisma and grace, whether talking to a stranger, helping someone out, or teaching his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews the things he had learned throughout his life.  He had a great appreciation for music of all genres.  As most of us know, wherever he was, whatever he was doing, sarcasm and laughter were always present.  He will be deeply missed by many.

Kurt is survived by his two daughters Ashley Holt (Joey Snider) of Thompson, ND and Tessa Holt of Fargo, ND; his grandchildren Taryn, Toby, and Ty; siblings Kent (Donna) Bailey of Ham Lake, MN, Darla Swanson of Thief River Falls, MN, Kim Gust (Jamie Loken) of Roseau, MN; nieces and nephews Seth, Sidney, Todd (Rachel), Clarence (Meagan), Shania (Andrew), Jasmine, Justin (Jenny), Aaron (April), Kody, Katie (Tim) Tollefson, Kelsey Holt;  special aunt and uncle Jean and Mark; and several other aunts, uncles, great-nieces and great-nephews Cael,Chase, Levi, Carter, Emerson, Rhett, Chloe, Eli, Levi, Khloey, Tucker, Benji, Aspen, Caydun, Janieva, Hunter and Atina.

He was preceded in death by his twin brother Kevin Holt; parents Kenny and Adella; grandparents Howard and Grace Tweten; grandparents Aubrey and Mabel Holt; nephew Jamie Swanson, great-nephew Jamison Swanson, cousin Jeffery Knapp and uncle Wallace Knapp.
