A Funeral Service for Julie A. Mindl of Warroad, MN will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026 at 11:00AM at the Warroad Baptist Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place at America Cemetery.
Julie A. Mindl was born in International Falls, MN and grew up in Warroad, MN graduating in 1985. She went into the Army Reserves before returning to Warroad to work. Julie was united in marriage to Donald Mindl on August 13, 1988. She worked at Marvin, and the Warroad School as a member of the kitchen staff and a para before starting and running her own cleaning business for the next 18 years. Julie found joy in life’s simple, meaningful moments. She had a lifelong love of horseback riding, where she felt most at peace. She poured her creativity into quilting and sewing, crafting pieces that will be cherished for generations. Her hands were rarely still—whether tending her garden, stitching a quilt, or preparing for the next camping trip. She especially enjoyed a good cup of coffee and going for Ranger rides, embracing the outdoors and the freedom it brought her.
Julie was known for her kindness, quiet strength, and generous heart. She found happiness in sharing her passions with family and friends, and had a special way of making others feel welcome and cared for. Her love for nature and creativity reflected the warmth she brought into every relationship. She had a very magnetic personality and made friends wherever she went.
Julie is preceded in death by her mother, Vickie Story; mother-in-law, Sandy Mindl; father-in law, Valerian Mindl; brother-in-law, John Rybak.
She is survived by her husband, Don Mindl of Warroad, MN; sons, Colten (Katlin) Mindl their children Hazel, Violet, and expected grandchild due June 2026 of Roseau, MN, Joseph (Haley Hommerding) Mindl their child Odin of Bemidji, MN, Timothy Mindl of Warroad, MN; siblings, Carla Rybak of Warroad, MN, Duane Story of South Carolina, Dale Story of Dickinson, ND, Dave (June) Story of Ogilvie, MN, Jennifer (Stacey) Schultes and their child Addie of Jamestown, ND; half sister Sheila (Terry) Erickson of Warroad, MN; many nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Betsy (Gus) Loop of International Falls, MN; brother-in-law, Marty (Jennifer) Mindl of Colorado.
