A Memorial Service for Jordi A. Lancette of Roseau, MN will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at 2:00PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Jordi Allen Lancette, age 34, passed away unexpectedly on March 28, 2026, in Roseau, MN.
He was born on February 17, 1992, in Roseau, MN, to Caren C. Lancette and Nathan Vatnsdal. Jordi grew up in Roseau and attended Roseau and Badger Public Schools, later earning his GED. He also took classes at Northland Community College and was currently enrolled in online courses through the University of Arizona.
Jordi had a passion for working on cars, whether repairing them or installing speakers. He worked for Farmers Union in Badger, ABS Sales in Roseau, and most recently Cenex in Roseau.
He enjoyed skateboarding and fishing, but what he loved most was playing his guitar. Self-taught, Jordi also learned to play the drums. Around 2006, he formed the band Visions Foreshadow with friends Chris, Dylan, Ron, and Jake. The group performed at various events throughout northern Minnesota and recorded a CD, To Seek and Find, in 2009 before disbanding.
Jordi deeply cherished his role as a father—not only to his son, Gibson, but also to Mariah Lundgren’s daughters, Adrianne and Bria; Kayla Fourstar’s sons, Andrew, Eldon, and Michael; and his special friend Shawna Rafdahl’s son, Loki, all of whom lovingly called him “Dad.”
Jordi is survived by his son, Gibson of Roseau; his father, Nathan (Lisa) Vatnsdal of Bismarck, ND; his siblings, Bennett Vatnsdal (Sydney Bauer), Bryce Vatnsdal, and Aubrey Vatnsdal, all of Bismarck, ND; his grandfather, Orelle Vatnsdal of Scobey, MT; and his aunt, Natasha (Kelly) Kotowicz of Alvarado, MN. He is also survived by his grandmother, Edith Swanson, and great-uncles David Swanson and Kim Swanson, all of Roseau, along with many cousins and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Caren Lancette; his grandfather, Richard Lancette; and his grandmother, Joan Vatnsdal.
