Joel D. Gorny

Joel D. Gorny was born on September 2, 1960 to Alois and Arlene (Gotz) Gorny in Milwaukee, WI. He graduated from Alexander Hamilton Highschool in 1978. Growing up his families basement was the spot to hang out as they had many luxuries that others didn’t. In his basement they played pool, foosball, and cards they also listened to music. Joel had very fond memories of fishing with his grandfather at Chippawa Portage. Joel worked as a mechanic for many years at Buds automotive and kept up on his certifications. He loved helping his grandchildren work on project trucks and telling stories about muscle cars. Joel also enjoyed fishing in Ely and Lake Michigan, having family BBQ’s along with watching the NFL and NASCAR. Joel was an original member of the Greasers Group in Milwaukee and attended several of their meetings. He was also a huge food guy and took advantage of all the good spots Milwaukee had to offer. Some of his favorites included Maria’s Pizza, Leon’s Custard Stand, Conejito’s Mexican and Carpi Italian.    

Joel was preceded in death by his ex-wife, Mary Bohn; parents; brother, David Gorny; aunt, Rita Akahoshi.

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Kraig) Stokke; grandchildren, Wyatt and Stettson Stokke; son, Joel Gorny II

There will be no formal service in honor or Joel's wishes.
