Private services for Jeanette Wellen of Roseau, MN will be held. She passed away May 13, 2020 at the LifeCare Roseau Manor at the age of 95.

Jeanette Arline Wellen was born in Roseau, MN on October 25, 1924, to August and Agnes (Holt) Solem. She grew up in the Ross, MN area and attended school there.

On December 25, 1948, Jeanette married Lloyd Jalmar Wellen in Badger, MN. One year after marriage they moved to International Falls, MN, and she resided there for approximately 20 years before moving back to Roseau. Jeanette worked as a nurse’s aide at Sheltering Oaks nursing home in Roseau for over 20 years. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Ross, MN.

Jeanette’s life consisted of being a caregiver for her relatives, friends, and others around her. She loved to do crossword puzzle books, watch horror movies, read, watch game shows on TV and play cards and bingo at LifeCare Manor. Her big love in life was her chocolate candy, which the grandchildren showered her with.

She is survived by her children - Linda (David) Desjardins, Patricia (Greg) Fries, Donald (Lois) Wellen, Harlan (Norma) Wellen; sister Mrs. Olive Foss; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Ethel Wellen, Mrs. Ruby Hukee, Mrs. Luella Mohagen; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two sisters, Marlys Solem and Phyllis Strozyk.
