Jack R. Olson

Jack R. Olson, 71, died at his farm in Malung on Thursday, November 16, 2023.  Jack was born March 3, 1952 at the Budd Hospital in Roseau, MN, the son of Joel and Irene (Knochenmus) Olson.  They lived on the farm in Malung until 1962.  He attended Malung School and when they moved to town he went to school in Roseau, graduating in 1970.  After graduation he traveled across Europe for a few years.

Jack was a carpenter and employed at Component Engineering before being employed at Polaris in the snowmobile and personal watercraft groups for 28+ yrs where he has many patents.  Jack also farmed at the family farm in Malung with his dad Joel.  He had Services on Track a Posi-Track trade service.  There were many 8 hour car drives to and from Bovey, MN and wiener roasts at the farm with the kids and grandkids.  Jack liked to go on drives to visit family and friends and end up at the hunting camp. He had many Polaris vehicles to use so Jack took us to the woods to ride them.

Jack is survived by his children Kari (Trevor) Bradford, Eagle River, WI, Heather Johnson, Roseau, Luke (Toni) Olson, Chandler, AZ, Lance (Callie) Novacek, Roseau, and Levi (Teall) Novacek, Roseau; grandchildren Mikari, Mikenzy, Ryan, Spencer, Evie, Laura, Joran, Henryk, Ella, Eva, Ean, Cami, Reese and Cash; great-grandchild Stephan; siblings Judy (Duff) Marshall, Hayes Lake near Roseau, Gail (Doug) Mclean, Kuna, ID,  David (Colleen) Olson, Roseau, Nancy (Tim) Anacabe, Warroad, and Sally Olson, Roseau.

Jack is preceded in death by his parents Joel and Irene (Knochenmus) Olson, and brothers Wayne and Jon Olson.
