Burial will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Warroad, MN. Helen passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at the Warroad Senior Living Center at the age of 95.
Helen Hallett was born on January 21, 1929 to Fred and Marie (Methner) Williams in Minneapolis, MN. She graduated from Minneapolis West High School. On October 25, 1947, she married David V. Hallett. In 1958 Dave purchased Lake of the Woods Dairy in Warroad, a place Helen had never seen or even heard of. Helen often told the story of how she cried all the way to Warroad but soon fell in love with the area, making many life long friends. She enjoyed her frequent walks and bike rides around town. Helen and Dave celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary before Dave passed away in 2017.
Helen worked at Wing's Department Store before going to work as a clerk at the Warroad Post Office until her retirement. Helen was a member of St. Mary's Church. While raising her children she spent many hours volunteering at their various activities. She was a very giving, supportive, and loving person to all she knew.
Helen loved fishing, traveling, and spending time with family. She especially enjoyed being on or near water. Summers would find her and Dave spending time on their houseboat or at their house at the Northwest Angle on Lake of the Woods. Winters would find them traveling to warmer climates always near the ocean.
Helen is survived by her children Michael Hallett, David (Candy) Hallett, Jeff (Lynn) Hallett, and Ann (John) Stoskopf; grandchildren Sarah (Paul) Borchert, Zach (Kailee) Hallett, Amy (Ben) Tesmer, Chrissy (Andy) McNair, Gabe Hallett, Patrick Stoskopf, and Savanna (AJ) Grinnell and her sister Donna. She is also survived by 16 great grandchildren.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband Dave, her parents, sisters June, Anne, and Georgia and brother Fred.
The family would like to thank the Warroad Senior Living Center for the compassionate care and kindness they provided to Helen during her time there.
