Gregory "Greg" Scott Gilbert

Born to Roy Jr. and Jeanne (Skogman) Gilbert in Menominee Michigan

Graduated from Tower-Soudan High School in 1982. After High School, he Served in the US Navy from 1982-1984 on the USS Eisenhower. After leaving the service he spent time in Florida before returning to Minnesota. He moved to Warroad, where he resided until his death.

March 21, 1987, he married Jenny, and they had 4 children together, he worked various jobs throughout the years from mechanic, carpentry, cooking, and farming. He enjoyed the outdoors, building, fishing, and hunting. He was kind and always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a wonderful, caring father and adored his grandchildren. 

After a very short battle with cancer, he peacefully passed away in the Grand Forks Hospital on July 12, 2024 with loved ones by his side. 

Greg was proceeded in death by his father Roy and mother Jeanne and stepfather Frank Franson, grandparents Roy and Mary Gilbert, Roland, and Blanche Skogman, Son Nathan and stepson Monty

He is survived by his wife Jenny and children Amanda (Alex) Stoskopf, Dylan Gilbert, Cody Gilbert, and Cassie Dahlberg, Grandchildren Jordyn, Gavin, Grayson, Gretta, and Henry, Sister Barb (John) Schultz and brother Brian Gilbert

A Memorial Service for Greg Gilbert of Warroad will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024 at Helgeson Funeral Home in Warroad at 2:00 pm with a visitation an hour prior. Interment will take place at a later date at Riverside Cemetery.
