A Memorial Service for Eileen will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Helgeson Funeral Home in Warroad, MN. Visitation will be one hr. prior to the service.
Eileen A. Wilmer passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at LifeCare Manor in Roseau, MN.
Eileen Ann Wilmer of Warroad, MN went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at LifeCare Roseau Manor at the age of 92 years old.
Eileen was born on October 8th, 1933, in Graceton, MN, to Henry and Blodwen Eickhoff. She grew up on the family farm.
Eileen graduated from Williams High School in 1951. She moved to the Twin Cities and worked for Betty Crocker for a year and then returned to Graceton to help with the family farm. She worked for Lunsteen Grocery & Hardware Store during the summer. Eileen attended Bemidji State College in 1953 and earned her teaching degree. Eileen taught in Washington state for 1 year and in Roseau, MN for 2 years. She stayed home and raised her children and did some substitute teaching in the Warroad schools. She also was the U.S. Customs authority and worked on the farm driving the swather during hay season.
Eileen married Harvey Ray Wilmer on June 30th, 1959, at the Assembly of God Church in Williams, MN. They rented a home in Roosevelt for one year before they purchased a home in town in Warroad, then they moved to their farm in 1962. They were blessed with four children: Bruce Allan, Barbara Ann, Beth Eileen, and Bryan Harvey.
Eileen enjoyed going to Arizona in the winter months. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, playing games and developing friendships. She was a Sunday school superintendent & teacher and was a PTA leader at the Warroad schools. She had a large garden every year and maintained beautiful flower gardens that she worked in daily.
Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, Henry & Blodwen Eickhoff, her brothers, Lyle, Lawrence, Loren, and Luverne Eickhoff. Her mother and father-in-law, Alice and Axel Wilmer; her sister-in-laws, Elaine Wilmer, Verna Menke, Harriet Sanner, Janet Eickhoff, Joanne Eickhoff and brothers-in-law Lloyd, Dale, and Dennis Wilmer and brothers-in-law James Menke and Glenn Sanner, grandsons Jake Wilmer, Adam & Andrew Salmela, and son-in-law Kevin Lind.
Eileen is survived by her husband, Harvey of 66 years, sons Bruce (Stacy) Wilmer, Bryan (Julie) Wilmer, daughters Barb (Kevin) Lind, Beth (Stuart) McFarlane; sisters-in-law Marilyn Bitzer, Sunny Wilmer, Lois Wilmer, Margaret Wilmer, and Avis Eickhoff, and brother-in-law Gene Bitzer. Her grandchildren include Evan (Kaci) Wilmer, Mitchell Wilmer(fiancé Kayla), Abby (Jeremy) Markstrom, Aaron Salmela, Stephanie (Michael) Tangen, Samantha (Nathan) Rodgers, Hunter McFarlane, and Beau & Gage Wilmer. Great-grandchildren Reagan & Aubrey Wilmer, Erik & Ava Tangen, Paige & Payton Rodgers and Hayes Markstrom. Many nieces and nephews.
