A Memorial Service for Edna I. Friesner of Warroad, MN will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Warroad, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment at Riverside Cemetery in Warroad, MN.
Edna Irene Friesner passed away on September 1, 2021 at the Warroad Senior Living Center at the age of 87.
Edna was born in Warroad, MN on August 19, 1934, to Albert and Yvonne (Brisson) Story. She left home at an early age to work at Palleys Café and Hegstads. She married Harry Arnold Friesner on January 24, 1954 in Williams, MN. In 1957 they moved to Tower, MN where they raised their six children. She worked at Hegstad Dairy in Warroad and Tower Baker. She worked at the Tower Sudan School and later was a Para.
They moved to Eveleth in 2009, and then in 2011 they moved to Warroad to be closer to their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed all her visitors who came to the Care Center these last few months. That was always the highlight of her day. Edna also enjoyed her visits from her son Dave and his family from Wisconsin. His daughter Andrea played her violin at the last visit. She sure was proud of Andrea and John. Edna enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins and the Vikings.
She is survived by her children Glen Friesner of Hinkley, MN, Claudia Mastin of Frazee, MN, Tim (Shiela) Friesner of Roosevelt, MN, Clyde (Connie) Friesner of Warroad, MN, Ralph Friesner of Embarrass, MN, David (Karn) Friener of New Berlin, WI; grandchildren Tanya Mastin, Shawn Mastin, Mandy (Tom) Lane, Stacy (Jared) Palm, Shane (Anna) Friesner, Kristy (Colt Yonke) Friesner, Ryan Friesner, John Friesner, Andrea Friesner; great-grandchildren Chelsea Mastin, Callista Mastin, Falicia Mastin, Caleb Mastin, Jaren Palm, Blake Palm, Emma Lane, Raleena Friesner, Annalie Yonke; sisters Rose Williamson of Greenbush, MN, Jessie (Jim) Jessop of International Falls, MN; brother William (Betty) Story of Hinkley, MN; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, nine siblings, three children – Rita Fay, Chris Lee, Cindy Ann; grandson Travis Friesner; and son-in-law Rick Mastin.
