A Funeral Service for Denise M. Hagen of Thief River Falls, formerly of Roseau, MN will be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau, MN. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 from 5-7PM at Helgeson Funeral Home. Interment to take place at Moe-Rose Cemetery.

Denise was 45.

Denise Marie Hagen was born on December 10, 1975 to Donald Hagen Jr. and Eileen McDonagh (Syverson) in Roseau, MN. Denise grew up in Roseau and achieved getting her GED. She worked various jobs including being a waitress, cleaning cabins and working at Marvin Windows. When Denise wasn’t working she loved spending time in the outdoors, especially fishing with her boys. She also enjoyed berry picking, mudding, camping, gardening, and jamming to music. Denise loved to cook and experiment with new flavors.

Denise is preceded in death by her grandfathers; paternal grandmother; uncles, Daniel Syverson, James Grugal; cousins, Dale Syverson, Austin Matthews; step grandfather, Larry Gustafson.

She is survived by her sons, Riley (fiancée Mariah) Hagen of Alexandria, MN, Jared McDonagh of St. Cloud, MN, Aaron Monson of Fergus Falls, MN; father, Donald (Anita) Hagen Jr. of Roseau, MN; mother, Eileen McDonagh of Brainerd, MN; siblings, Mark (Nicolle) Hagen of Brainerd, MN, Eric Hagen of Roseau, MN; fiancée,  Scott Helgeland; nieces and nephews, Alex, Annabelle, Ben; maternal grandmother, Eleanor Gustafson of Roseau, MN.
