Debra "Deb" Anne Theisen

Debra Anne Theisen passed away on July 13, 2024 at the age of 71 at Greenbush Lifecare Manor in Greenbush MN.   

Debra “Deb” Anne Theisen was born July 25, 1952 in Seattle, Washington to Gordon and Lorene (Hirst) Grissam.  She had one older sister Janet (Grissam) VanWinkle.  Deb graduated from Auburn Senior High School in 1972.  She also attended Bismark State College later on in life.  At a young age she enjoyed roller skating, spending time with her many cousins and swimming and hanging out at the Ocean.   She was a girl scout leader for a few years while her daughter Tara was enrolled.  Deb always liked to attend as many of the kids and grandkids sporting events.  Deb always loved animals and always had one or the other throughout her life.    

Deb met Dennis Olson in 1978 at the Puyallup Fair and were married on October 15, 1979 in Federal Way, WA.  Together they had three children Tara, Sadie, and Derrick that they raised together.  They spent most of the beginning years in Washington and then moved to Mandan, ND in 1987 and then to Greenbush MN in 1989 where she began her 20 plus year with Polaris Industries in Roseau.  Deb started in the sewing department in which she enjoyed very much as sewing was a passion of hers.  She met a lot of people that became some of her good friends.  Deb and Dennis spent a lot of weekends camping in Lake Bronson at the State Park.  Her husband passed away in 2003 and she moved to Burnsville a year later and married Jeffery Theisen. 

Deb married Jeff Theisen on January 17, 2004 at the Mall of America in Bloomington, MN.  She worked at many different manufacturing companies until her retirement in 2018.  Jeff and Deb bought a lake cabin on Lake Milacs in Garrison MN where they enjoyed spending their time, especially when the kids and grandkids showed up.  They loved taking the golf cart out for rides and cruising the campground.  They would take the kids and grandkids out on the fishing launch and even though she did not like fishing she would always catch most of the fish. 

Deb is survived by her children Tara (Russell) Peterson Roseau, MN, Sadie (Stacy Pahlen) Olson Grand Forks, ND, Derrick (Shannon) Olson Greenbush, MN.  Grandkids Brandon Peterson, Devon Peterson Roseau, MN, Samantha (Junior) Peralta St. Hilaire, MN, Madison, Maycee and Bryce Olson Greenbush, MN Great Grandsons Wyatt Peterson Roseau, MN and Ryden Timm Peterson Greenbush, MN.  She is survived by her cat Piper. 

Deb was preceded in death by her parents Gordon and Lorene Grissam, sister Janet Van Winkle, husband Dennis Olson, husband Jeff Theisen, great grand daughter Nova Peralta.

A visitation for Debra Theisen of Roseau will take place on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau from 3:00 - 5:00 pm.
