Connie J. Norstebon

A Celebration of Life for Connie will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Church of the Living Water, just east of Baudette, MN.  Interment will be at Elm Park Cemetery at a later date.

Connie Jean (Lucek) Norstebon of Baudette, MN, passed away on January 21, 2020, at Lakewood Hospital in Baudette at the age of 63.

 Connie was born December 18, 1956, in Fairbury, IL, to Dorothy (Jordon) and Rudolph Lucek. She was raised in Charlotte, IL, and went to school in Chatsworth, IL, until she and her family moved to Baudette in 1972, where she attended Lake of the Woods High School.

 She met and married Dan Friemoth and welcomed her first-born son, Daniel Antone, on December 4, 1973.

 On November 4, 1975, she married Dan Dahlgren and welcomed her daughter, Lori Kay, on March 15, 1977. She then welcomed another daughter, April Jean, on April 18, 1978. Her son, Brandon Earl, arrived May 23, 1980.

 Connie spent most of her life as a cook at various restaurants in Baudette. She cooked at the Ranch House, Ma & Pa’s drive thru and Wigwam Resort, from where she retired. Her passion in life was singing and playing guitar. She enjoyed jam sessions with her brothers and playing and singing for family and friends. She was even known to write a song or two. She enjoyed singing so much she joined the Church of the Living Water band, once even recording a song at the state fair.

 She loved her family and friends and was always giving a helping hand to those in need. She will be greatly missed.

 She is survived by her son, Dan (Polly) Friemoth of Baudette, daughters Lori Thompson and April Bergeson also of Baudette; her two brothers, Rory Lucek and Randy (Cindy) Lucek of Baudette; her twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law Ethel Lucek and Dorothy Lucek and a great community of friends.

 She was preceded in death by both her parents; son Brandon Earl; brothers Rudy Lucek and Ronnie Lucek; and niece Nara Lynn-Lee.
