Charlotte Ada Demary

A Memorial Service for Charlotte Demary of Baudette will take place on Friday, October 27, 2023 at First Lutheran Church in Baudette at 1:00pm with a visitation an hour prior. Interment will be held at Elm Park Cemetery.

Charlotte A. Demary passed away on October 16, 2023 at the Warroad Senior Living Center.  She was born to Clarence and Minnie (Storla) Baldwin September 24, 1919 in Bismarck, ND.  Charlotte attended school until the age of 16 when she went to work helping at home with household chores, milking cows and doing other farm work with her dad.  During the winter she went into town to do housework for different families, and in the springtime it was back to the family farm to help her beloved dad. 

Charlotte married Walter F. Demary on November 27, 1945.  She worked alongside him at the butcher shop in Baudette and worked at the Hartz grocery store in the meat department.  Charlotte then worked at the nursing home in the kitchen for several years, the Brink Center, at Tom’s Café, and as a waitress at the Rex Hotel.  She retired at the age of 89 yrs. old. Grandma Charlotte moved into the Pine Unit at Warroad Senior Living Center for dementia care.

Charlotte was an active VFW auxiliary member, making her delicious sour cream raisin pies for their 4th of July pie social every year.  She also loved gardening and her flowers, mowing the lawn, being outdoors and caring for her dog Lou Lou.  Charlotte loved all her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson, Kendrick.

Charlotte is survived by her son Dennis and special friend Gloriann Fischer, grandchildren Michelle and wife Mikki Demary; Shain and daughter Paige; Jacob Demary and children Chance. Layla and Aaliyah; Brian (Jenny) Loughrey and children Jacob and Erika; Brooke Demary, Dawn (Kurt) Olson and children Walter (Jimie) Olson, Emma Olson and Joesef Olson; Travis Demary. Nieces and nephews Jewell Johannesen and Forrest Johannesen, Caroline (Bea) Perkins, Allen Olson, Elaine and Bill Rathe, Carol (Howard) Grearheart; special daughter-in-laws Cindy Feels, Sandra Demary, Sherry Wangerud and many other relatives and loved ones.

Charlotte is preceded in death by her husband Walter, son Denver, parents, brother Lloyd and wife Alice Baldwin, sister Sylvia Johannsen and niece Faye Baldwin Fallon.
