Catherine Nikki (Black) Thunder

Catherine Nikki (Rafdahl) Thunder, 72, was born March 28, 1952 in Santa Monica, CA, to Avanell Myers and Larry Black. She attended school in California and South Dakota, where she graduated from high school.  She attended some college and eventually moved to Warroad.  She was a homemaker who loved her kids and proudly cared for her family. Catherine did some ministry work as well and was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

Catherine loved the casino, going out to dine on fine food, and playing bingo and Yahtzee. When dressing up she liked to look perfect.  She loved to sing karaoke and could also play drums and write music.  Catherine passed away on June 23, 2024 at the Warroad Senior Living Center at the age of 72.

She is survived by her children Melissa (Hines) Krulac, her husband Dean and son Alexander Nichols,  and Chearra (Hines) Hendersen, her husband Daniel and children Jesse Mclane and Ezekiel Hendersen; brother Stephen Black and step-father Jim Wegner and his wife Melanie.

Catherine is preceded in death by her father Larry Black, mother Avanell Myers and former husband Kendall Rafdahl.
